what i watched lately

Awalnya gue agak boring nonton film ini. Mungkin mood gue saat itu lagi super jelek, hingga berakhir gue langsung mematikan dvd player dan film ini terlupakan hingga berbulan-bulan kemudian... beberapa hari yang lalu.
Dan penilaian gue ternyata salah. Its a really good movie anyway. Bukan tipikal another cheap romantic movies. Gue suka pernyataan casual relationship antara Ryan Bingham dan Alex Goran.
Dan nampaknya quote/dialog favorit semua penonton adalah yang ini:

Natalie Keener: I thought I'd be engaged by now. I thought by 23, I'd be married, maybe have a kid, corner office by day, entertaining at night. I was supposed to be driving a grand cherokee by now.

Alex Goran: Well, life can underwhelm you that way.

Natalie Keener: Where did you think you'd be by err...?

Alex Goran: It doesn't work that way. At a certain point, you stop with the dead lines. It can be a little counter productive.

Natalie Keener: I don't want to say anything that is anti feminist. I really appreciate everything that your generation did for me.

Alex Goran: It was our pleasure.

Natalie Keener: Sometimes it feels like, no matter how much success I have, it's not gonna matter until I find the right guy. I could have made it work, he really fit the bill, you know. White collar, 6'1, college grad, loves dogs, likes funny movies, brown hair, kind eyes, works in finance but is outdoorsy. I always imagined he'd have a single syllable name like Matt or John or Dave. In a perfect world, he drives a 4 runner and the only thing he loves more than me is his golden lab. And a nice smile. What about you?

Alex Goran: You know, honestly by the time you're 34, all the physical requirements just go out the window. You secretly pray that he'll be taller than you, not an a.$$-hole would be nice just someone who enjoys my company, comes from a good family. You don't think about that when you're younger. Someone who wants kinds/ likes kids/wants kids. Healthy enough to play with his kids. Please let him earn more money than I do, you might not understand that now but believe me, you will one day otherwise that's a recipe for disaster. And hopefully, some hair on his head. I mean, that's not even a deal breaker these days. A nice smile. Yea, a nice smile just might do it.

Natalie Keener: Wow. That was depressing.

Yeah, actually i've read about these in one blog. Dan ternyata lucu juga akhirnya gue menonton moment dialog ini diucapkan. Haha..
Tapi tetep gue suka quote yang paling atas. Di saat si Ryan dengan pdnya hidup melanglang buana sendirian, dan situasi mengharuskan dia mem'bujuk' calon suami adiknya agar meneruskan resepsi pernikahan mereka.. keluar juga deh kalimat saktinya.
Oke, terlalu banyak spoiler.
Anyway, i gave it 4/5 for this movie.

Lily Owens: If your favorite color is blue, why did you paint the house pink?

August Boatwright: That was May's doing. When we went to the paint shop, she latched on to a color called, "Caribbean Pink." She said it made her feel like dancing a Spanish Flamenco. I personally thought it was the tackiest color I had ever seen, but I figured if it could lift May's heart, it was good enough to live in.

Lily Owens: That was awfully nice of you.

August Boatwright: Well, I don't know. Some things in life, like the color of a house, don't really matter. But lifting someone's heart? Now, that matters.

This is my favorite actually. Yah kalau jujur gue emang tipe-tipe yang lebih suka nonton film kaya gini. Setelah berhari-hari membaca beberapa halaman dari novel-nya si Sue Monk Kidd ini di American Corner-MBRC (perpustakan fakultas gue). Gue akhirnya memutuskan untuk membeli dvd-nya.
Aktingnya Queen Latifah is superb. Ceritanya mengambil background jaman Amerika masih rasis dengan kulit hitam. Yeah i cant talk too much. You should watch this by yourself.

And i gave it 4/5 for this lovable movie :)
